Kvaloya is the “locals ski island”; a short drive from Tromso airport, with a wide variety of easily accessed terrain.
After a brilliant trip last year to Straumsbukta on Kvaloya…we are going back! At this time of year we should enjoy plenty of cold, powder snow and on sunnier slopes, spring snow starting to appear.
We will stay in Knut Flatbo’s very comfortable seafront cowshed (converted into human cabin with sauna and lots of space)
Self catering for the sake of flexibility, (and the opportunity for a “bake off”!). We’ll enjoy day touring to descend wide open slopes, steep chutes (if we want), 1000m summit to sea descents, and astounding views across the North Atlantic that sum up the Kvaloya vibe.
Amazing snow, amazing views, and skiing right back to the car-parked at the sea!
We have a spacious hire van to get around Kvaloya, and over to mainland Troms if the weather and conditions are better there occasionally. Total flexibility, a great blend of adventure, laughs and vertical is what this trip is about…
If that strikes a chord, drop Andy a line, and we can chat !
