Fly to Geneva, use public transport to get to Chamonix, France. Stay in anything from a posh hotel, to a bunkhouse…your choice! We can help with advice here, and coordinate your arrangements.
On this course, we respond to your aspirations; whether it’s to learn & practice rope systems, explore as much variety as possible, or simply to bag peaks! This week is simply about you getting what you want from a guided experience to move towards independant alpinism, or guided adventure on bigger objectives.

Meet on the evening of your arrival, check your equipment and make a plan fitting with weather forecasts etc.
Hire any necessary equipment. Use Montenevers train to access the Mer de Glace to practice snow & ice craft. Return to the valley for the night and adjust equipment if necessary.
Use Charamillon chairlift at Le Tour to gain height then walk in to the Albert Premiere hut above the Tour Glacier, positioning us for an Alpine ascent the following day, and learning about the alpine hut system.
Early start, to ascend the Aiguille du Tour 3544m which has some very easy rock scrambling after the glacial approach. Return through the Col Superior du Tour and down to Le Tour in the Chamonix valley.
Drive through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy. Walk into the Vittorio Emmanuel hut in the Gran Paradiso National Park. Drink some very good Italian coffee (or wine as you prefer!).
Early start, ascend the Gran Paradiso 4062m. A beautiful summit with amazing views across Italy and up toward Mont Blanc to the north. Your first 4000m peak! Return to the valley, and drive back to Chamonix for an evening meal.
Public transport to Geneva airport.
