Core skills to remain safe and productive in the winter mountains.
Go with an IFMGA Mountain Guide or seasoned MIC on the hill and get access to mountain and avalanche hazard evaluation, risk assessment, and ways to mitigate hazard, in a practical way during a journey.
You may be new to the winter mountaineering scene and want to learn how to manage the hazards inherent in winter mountaineering.
You may be a University Mountaineering Club, focusing on safety in the hills
You may be a Mountain Rescue Team wanting to refresh core skills away from your own “patch”
You may be working toward your Winter Mountain Leader or MIC assessment.
Training and practice in tactical navigation in the winter environment. Infinity Mountain Guides are Winter Mountain Leader Trainer/Assessor/Directors and have years of experience training and assessing.
All of the above can be combined into a day or spread over a weekend/couple of days to really get into the weeds as necessary.
Theory presentations can be included, particularly for Avalanche Awareness provision to groups in addition to the practical hill journey. These have proved very useful to front load the practical elements, the evening before going out on the hill.
